Why convert Markdown to PDF?

Markdown is the fastest way to write — but the people you send it to usually need a PDF. A README, a meeting note, a homework sheet, a resume or a technical doc all look unfinished as raw .md. This editor turns your text into a polished, page-ready document the moment you stop typing, with a live preview on the right.

It renders like a real document: headings, lists, tables, blockquotes, links and images all styled, and fenced code blocks get syntax highlighting. Pick the GitHub look for a familiar documentation feel, a clean light theme, or a dark theme that suits code-heavy notes. Your draft is saved automatically in the browser, so you can close the tab and come back exactly where you left off. Plain .txt files work too — open one or paste the text and it is treated as the document body.

Everything runs locally. The PDF is generated on your device and downloaded straight away; your notes never touch a server. There is no account, no watermark and no upload step — which matters for drafts that contain client data, secrets in code samples, or unreleased ideas. It is the fastest path from a plain-text idea to a document you can actually send.

Frequently asked questions

Does this support tables and code highlighting?

Yes. GFM tables render as real tables, and fenced code blocks (```) are highlighted with highlight.js. Inline code stays as styled inline code. The same markup exports into the PDF.

Will my draft be saved if I close the tab?

Yes. Every keystroke is stored in your browser's local storage, along with the theme you chose. Reopen the page and your document is exactly where you left it. Clearing browser data wipes it.

Can I use it for plain text files?

Absolutely. Click "Open .md / .txt" and choose a .txt file, or paste plain text into the editor. Plain paragraphs render normally; blank lines separate paragraphs, just like Markdown.

Is the document uploaded anywhere?

No. Rendering and PDF generation happen in your browser. The file is built on your device and downloaded directly. You can disconnect from the network after the page loads.

How do I change margins or page size?

The exporter uses A4-sized pages with a comfortable 10 mm margin, which suits most documents. If you need different margins, paste the text into a word processor after exporting — the styling carries over cleanly.
